Ask anyone around me and they could tell you I've always been very keen about the idea of running an art workshop. I want to bring together a group of creatives and art enthusiasts and create projects where we can bounce ideas around and everyone can walk a way with some art, as well as a precious experience.
This December I'm planning to host two workshops, one very art focused and the other will be done in collaboration with my mother Kaori, where we'll be working more towards creating decorative art.

If you are planning to purchase one of my artworks over £300, the cost of the workshop will be taken off.

Still Life and Monotype Workshop
Starting the day with still life sketching, working with more traditional techniques at first and then moving into stylizing, abstraction and alternate mediums.
After a morning of drawing it will be a hearty homecooked lunch, with a mix of Japanese style foods.
A messier afternoon to explore monotype art. Fundamentally its a hybrid between painting and printmaking using oil based paint. I'll take you through different approaches and then afterwards how you can continue to develop your pieces.
You will leave with multiple still life studies as well as 2-3 small monotype pieces and 2-4 Large Pieces (approx 35x50cm - 50x70cm) all on quality paper.

Decorative Art Workshop- Bag, Lampshades and Cards
*more example images to come
This will be a day jampacked with activity. Printmaking is used to create so many different things and we wanted to reflect all that possibility in this course.
The Day:
1. Beginning with making some quick designs, then cutting and making them into printing plates.
2. Ink up the plates with different colours and see how they transform when you put them through the Printing Press.
-The paper from these will be turned into cards, with a quality box and envelopes to go together.Â
3. Lunch - A homely array of Japanese style dishes (sushi/gyoza etc.)
4. The Main Piece- Design and make a larger more planned design. Examples and assistance will be provided.Â
5. Printing the design on to Fabric, Paper and a Large quality tote bage.
6. Adding Gold Leaf/ Foil as a finishing touch
7. Mounting the fabric to the Lampshade
8. Extra time is provided afterwards for any extra finishing touches needed
